Notice Of Application For Land Application System (LAS) Permit To Land
Apply Treated Wastewater To A Land Application Site In The State Of
Georgia.
The Georgia Environmental Protection Division Has Received A New LAS Permit Application
For the Issuance Of A New LAS Permit. Having reviewed Such Application, The Environmental
Protection Division Proposes To Issue For A Maximum Term Of Five Years The Following Permit
Subject To Specific Pollutant Limitattions And Special Conditions.
Freed Farms, 153 Southern States Road, Mauk, Georgia 31508, LAS Permit No. GAJ010408
For A proposed Land Application System To Be Located There in Taylor County. They Propose To
Construct A Facility For Final Treatment And Disposal Of Wastewater From Comercial Wastewater
Processing. The Commercial Wastewater Is Primarily Brown Grease From Restaurant Grease Traps,
Vegetable Oil, Animal fats, And Other High Fee Fatty Acid Material Intended For Use In Biodiesel Fuel
Protection. Land Application And Disposal By Slow Rate Spray Irrigation With Agronomic Uptake
Proposed To Be Permitted by Approximately 0.085 Million Gallons Per Day (MGD) Of Treated Wastewater.
The Proposed 36 Acres Of Land Application Area Is Located Within A 373 Acre Tract Owned By Zurix
Industrial, LLC And Leased By Freed Farms. The Tract Is In The Flint River Basin.
